Privacy policy

Prayer records and settings

FARDU saves your prayer and Qada entries, recorded timing, settings and optional prayer-pause or period entries in its local database. These records are not uploaded as a prayer journal to our servers. Your operating system’s device backup may include app data, depending on your backup settings. Onboarding reflections are not sent to an advertising or analytics service.

Location and prayer times

Location permission is optional. You can select a city or Malaysian prayer zone manually. Coordinates help calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction on your device. When a city or address is resolved, the operating system’s geocoding provider may process that location under its own privacy terms.

For Malaysian timetables, the selected JAKIM zone, month and year may be sent to our timetable service or the official e-Solat service. Internet services also receive normal connection information such as your IP address. We do not use your location for advertising.

Optional app blocking

On iOS, FARDU uses Apple’s Screen Time APIs and stores selection tokens in its local shared App Group. On Android, Accessibility access lets FARDU detect when a selected app opens and show a prayer pause. FARDU does not read screen text or collect the content inside other apps. Selected apps are not sent to our servers. You choose whether to grant access and can revoke it in system settings.

Purchases

Apple or Google processes payments. FARDU uses RevenueCat to validate purchases and provide Pro access. RevenueCat processes purchase and receipt information, entitlement status, a customer identifier and related app, device and store metadata. Purchase information also supports billing analytics and fraud prevention. FARDU does not receive your payment-card details. Read RevenueCat’s privacy policy.

Limited cloud profile

FARDU can create an anonymous technical profile using Supabase. It contains an identifier, language, timezone and update time. The identifier can also associate your profile with RevenueCat purchases. This profile is not an online backup of your prayer journal. Our hosting and backend providers may process network and security logs when you use their services. Read Supabase’s privacy policy.

Notifications, advertising and the website

Prayer reminders are scheduled on your device with your permission. This release does not initialize Firebase remote notifications or Meta/TikTok advertising SDKs. FARDU does not sell personal data or use your prayer records for advertising.

This website is hosted by Cloudflare and does not add advertising trackers, analytics scripts or a sign-up form. Cloudflare may process connection and security information to deliver and protect the site. Read Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Support requests

If you email us, we receive your address and the information you choose to include. We use it to respond, investigate problems and handle privacy requests. Avoid sending sensitive prayer or health information unless you want us to use it to help with your request.

Retention and deletion

Local records remain until you delete them or clear the app’s data. Settings → Delete my data clears local app records and requests deletion of an existing cloud profile. Purchase records held by Apple, Google or RevenueCat are handled separately and may be retained for purchase restoration, accounting, fraud prevention or legal requirements. Resetting your app data does not refund a purchase.

You can request deletion without the app. We may ask for information needed to verify the request. We retain support messages and operational records only as needed to handle the request, operate the service and meet applicable obligations; some provider backups may expire on their own schedules.

Your choices

You can decline optional permissions, correct prayer records, delete app data and contact us about access, correction or deletion of information we hold. Service providers may process data outside your country. We use access controls and encrypted connections where supported, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
